Bhavin Patel, PharmD – Pharmacist
Bhavin earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and has several years of community pharmacy experience in Wilmington. He works with prescription and nonprescription medicines and understands the practical details of daily treatment, including refill timing, storage and correct use.
Bhavin checks prescriptions, dosage instructions, duplicate ingredients and possible drug interactions. He also reviews medication information before publication and explains the precautions, side effects and directions patients need to know. Shannan Shelton, PharmD, BCACP – Pharmacist
Shannan earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Thomas Jefferson University and completed two years of residency training at ChristianaCare. She holds pharmacist licenses in Delaware and Pennsylvania and has been board certified in ambulatory care since 2023. Her work centers on medicines used for diabetes, high blood pressure and other conditions that require regular follow-up.
Earlier in her career, Shannan investigated reports of rare reactions linked to medicines and vaccines, including serious skin disorders and neurological events. She now reviews treatment lists, doses, laboratory results and side effects to find problems that may develop over time. She also checks written medication information for accuracy and keeps the advice practical for everyday use.
Jillian Laude, PharmD, BCPS – Pharmacist
Jillian earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island and completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency. Her hospital career includes infectious-disease pharmacy, antibiotic stewardship and home infusion therapy. She now works with medicines prepared for use outside the hospital, where dose calculations, storage conditions and administration instructions require close review.
At ChristianaCare, Jillian took part in a statewide program that reduced unnecessary antibiotic prescribing in outpatient clinics. She checks prescriptions, treatment duration, interactions and monitoring requirements, with particular attention to antibiotics and injectable medicines. Jillian also reviews medication content to keep directions accurate and consistent with current clinical guidance.
Colleen E. Smith, PharmD, BCPPS – Pharmacist
Colleen earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and holds board certification in pediatric pharmacy. She works as a clinical pharmacy specialist in Wilmington, reviewing medicines prescribed for infants, children and adolescents. Pediatric doses often depend on weight, age and the form of the medicine, leaving little room for calculation errors.
Colleen checks prescriptions for the correct dose, concentration and schedule. She also reviews liquid medicines, storage instructions, measuring devices, interactions and duplicate ingredients. Her explanations show parents how to measure, time and store each medicine correctly.
